Sagrada Família

Around 50 bespoke ceramic molds 3D printed by Lamáquina, developed with Ceràmica Cumella to fire the tiles of the Sagrada Família's Cross of Jesus Christ without deforming.

Beginning in 2024, Ceràmica Cumella led production of the ceramic tiles that form the Cross of Jesus Christ at the Sagrada Família in Barcelona, continuing their long-standing ceramic collaboration with the basilica. Lamáquina joined as technical partner for the firing process, developing and fabricating around 50 bespoke ceramic molds, each one calibrated to hold a tile during firing. Ranging from 20 to 60cm, every mold was built to keep its tile dimensionally stable in the kiln, preventing deformation while meeting the geometric precision the tower required.
