Anemo

An all-in-one table with a reaction-diffusion leg form, 3D printed in recycled polystyrene with IMT Nord Europe.

Anemo comes from a collaboration with the plastics processing department at the IMT Nord Europe research center: an all-in-one table whose toolpath is built around the constraints of large-format 3D printing. The organic envelope of the leg comes from a reaction-diffusion simulation, chosen to get away from familiar forms. The first prototype was printed in recycled polystyrene, a material that shrinks a lot and reacts to small temperature changes, so the print took as much trial and error as the design.
