A reception desk for the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat des Pyrénées-Orientales, 3D printed in six concrete segments by 3D Concrete, with a terracotta finish and a solid wood top.
The reception desk for the Chambre de Métiers et de l'Artisanat des Pyrénées-Orientales is printed in concrete, in six distinct segments. The form and the print toolpaths were developed together: the draped base comes from the concrete being laid down layer by layer, and every stratum stays visible on the finished piece. The walls are hollow, a double thickness that gives the desk its rounded folds. The counter follows the layout of the lobby and the constraints of the site, an adaptation traditional methods could not deliver. A solid wood top covers the whole, sitting above the terracotta finish.
