Connect Festival

Unions, Hands and Arrows: three skateable concrete sculptures 3D printed by 3D Concrete for the Connect Skaturbanism festival in Bordeaux, with Hands designed and engineered for the project.

The Connect Skaturbanism festival, run by the Côte Ouest agency, installed three skateable concrete sculptures in Bordeaux: Unions, Hands and Arrows, set at the miroir d'eau and beside the Grand Théâtre. Hands is the module designed and engineered for this project, a domed palm-like surface extended by rounded ridges that read as fingers. The pieces are painted in graded bands of green, yellow and white, which follow the printed geometry instead of sitting on top of it. The project was carried out with professional skateboarder Léo Valls, under the artistic direction of Brice Fauquet. The volumes stand in a heritage setting and work as skate modules at the same time. The festival opened on 17 October at Cour Mably.
